Privacy Policy

This policy applies to VA Ready on iOS and Vet Ready on Android — the same software product released under different names per platform. Where this policy says "the App," it means whichever version you installed.
Information Stored on Your Device
The App is designed with your privacy as a priority. The vast majority of what you do in the App stays on your device and never leaves it:
- Your profile (branch, MOS, service dates, separation date, state, county, dependents, deployments, exposures, rating, TDIU/P&T flags) is stored in your device's local storage — never transmitted
- Your claim list, selected conditions, ratings, bilateral flags, evidence checklists, notes, and C&P appointment dates are stored locally
- Your claim milestone reminders (titles, due dates, notes, reminder lead times) are stored locally
- There are no user accounts, no logins, and no cloud sync of your personal data
- Payment for Pro subscriptions and Lifetime Pro is handled entirely by Apple (App Store, on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android) — we never see your payment details
Information We Fetch (Read-Only)
The App reads reference data from our database over HTTPS. This is one-way, read-only content we publish to power the App:
- VA disability rating criteria and diagnostic codes
- Federal and state benefit information
- MOS profile data (common conditions, exposures, PACT eligibility)
- Compensation rates and SMC tables
- Filing guide content (DBQ references, rating breakpoints, etc.)
Nothing about you is sent when the App fetches reference content. These are read-only requests.
Information You Actively Send Us
There are only two situations in which data leaves your device, and both require you to tap a button first:
- Feedback form. When you open Profile → Send Feedback and tap "Send," the App transmits the message you typed, your branch, your MOS code(s), whether you are a Pro subscriber, the App version, and your device model (e.g., "iPhone15,3" or "Pixel 8"). This is used solely to triage bugs and feature requests. We do not transmit your name, email, identifiers, health records, or VA claim details — only what you type in the message body.
- Store rating prompts. If you choose to leave a rating, Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) handles the submission. We never see review content.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do NOT sell your data to anyone, ever
- We do NOT share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
- We do NOT collect your health or medical records
- We do NOT track your location
- We do NOT use advertising trackers or analytics that identify you personally
- We do NOT collect your DD-214, Social Security Number, or VA file number
- We do NOT have access to your VA records or claims
- We do NOT send remote push notifications or marketing messages
Notifications
All notifications are local — scheduled on your device by the platform's notification system (iOS local notifications on iPhone, Android notification channels on Android) — and only fire for reminders you explicitly create (C&P exam reminders and claim milestones). We do not send any remote push notifications. Reminder content and timing are stored only on your device. You can disable notifications at any time under iOS: Settings → VA Ready → Notifications, or Android: Settings → Apps → Vet Ready → Notifications.
How We Use Information
The information stored on your device is used solely to:
- Calculate your estimated combined VA disability rating
- Show you relevant benefits based on your rating and state
- Provide MOS-specific condition information
- Personalize your filing timeline based on your separation date
- Schedule the local reminders you configure
Feedback you submit is used only to respond to your message, triage bugs, and prioritize feature work.
Data Security
- All network requests use HTTPS encryption
- Your personal profile and claim data never leave your device except if you submit feedback
- Reference data fetches are read-only and do not include any information about you
Data Retention and Deletion
- All profile, claim, and reminder data is stored locally on your device only
- Delete the App to remove all locally-stored data
- Feedback messages you submit are retained by the developer for support and triage purposes; contact us to request deletion
- There are no servers storing your profile, claim list, or reminders
Children's Privacy
The App (VA Ready / Vet Ready) is designed for U.S. military veterans and service members. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
